To Recover, Use Android Assistant to INSTALL THE APPS from the SD Card, and IMPORT your contacts back into the phone while using Import / Export feature located within the Contacts Menu.
The default location how the info is saved to is sdcard/AndroidAssistant_appbackup. Be sure copying this folder in your computer using the FTP or Direct Cable Connect Option. I backup your entire SD-Card.
CALENDAR Backup is accomplished through my default Google Mail Account, and people items will or should return independently.
